iPHONE X OPTIMISATION ISSUEHorizon Chase is a wonderfully fun and visually stunning arcade racer that I’d recommend to fans of the genre in heartbeat..HOWEVER, when playing on iPhone X the 'home bar' at the bottom of the screen is perpetually active and never fades into a grey non-active mode as it should. This is not only very distracting in terms of player immersion, but it also means it is frustratingly easy to inadvertently close the game.This simply requires a very small optimisation fix, which greys out the home bar, remedying the issue entirely. It’s a subtle change for sure, but makes a big improvement in terms of user experience.For reference purposes, please take a look at games such as Inside and Alto’s Odyssey to see precisely what I mean.Aside from that, all that is standing between Horizon Chase and genuine iOS racing perfection is an option to hide on-screen virtual controlsMany thanks for listening!

Seen the App Store reviews and it seems I’ve been missing out for over a year!Right back to the 80’s and playing OutRun in the pub at 50p a go and constantly failing miserably!Couple of things I’d like to see;1) A practice mode - no cars, just you and the track, select how many laps and away you go…2) The corner map to be slightly larger and have markers as to where the collectibles are.3) After paying to unlock the full version be able to play any track when you wish and not have to go through the palaver of unlocking each area by doing well etc….keep the format for the World Tour mode but just let us play them in a different Arcade mode.4) The ability to turn off the Facebook connect prompts everywhere..some of don’t and have no intention of ever using the privacy pit that is FB, let us turn it off in settings.5) I miss the forks in the road from OutRun, maybe a mode similar to that?Apart from that a really good blast from the past and its been funny to see the kids in the reviews moaning about the physics and feel of the game…..clearly they have never played the originals that this is based on.

The Good:- Best racing game I’ve played on mobile. Feels fun, fast and for the most part the controls are tight.- The music is INCREDIBLE. Just wonderful.- Graphics are fantastic.- SFX very satisfying.- Ranking up your entire fleet is smart.- Some fun level variations.The Bad:- Controls don’t scale well. With no brake and increased speed, the later levels begin to feel more luck than skill based as you constantly bang between other cars without any way to stop yourself.- The visibility in some of the night levels is almost nill.- A lot of ‘throwaway’ cars.- Some odd UI flows. No way to look at your cars without first selecting to race. Home screen could do with a ‘Garage’ button.The Ugly:- Crashes A LOT.- Occasionally glitches- Rival cars can drove through scenery.Overall:Well worth the money. With a bit more polish and QA could be phenomenal.
