Can’t complain

I would be giving it 5 stars as I have been using ‘hotspot shield’ for a while across my devices and has always been good, i have only just had issues where it is constantly flicking between on an off and the browser don’t know what’s going on.?that being said, I’m sure it will be updated and any glitches ironed out. I have the premium option but you don’t have to sign up, it still works just as well with the free account.. not much difference really. I went premium just because I felt bad using it so much, everyday so I wanted to support them and it’s not much. Thankyou.

Everything was perfect until…

I’ve had this vpn for a while now and it was perfectly working with all my devices until yesterday, the app crashed and kicked me out of my account for some reason which I couldn’t have access to it (Maximum attempts exceeded). Tried refreshing the app, even redownloading it, so I can see wth happened all the sudden. So I waited for 5-10 minutes then got back into my account thankfully but… I saw on the main page that I’m no longer part of the premium members even though I’m still paying for it… I even checked with the apple’s subscription and it mentions it will renew on the 15th of February. Idk what happened within a day to my account but I CANT even message support team since it’s part of the premium version… Which is quite annoying for me since there is no such a thing in any other apps I had myself. There is ALWAYS an email to get contact with for emergency cases! Like mine…

P.S. I can’t access to their website support since my vpn doesn’t work at all or any of their websites. The only thing that was working for me was the live chat which that one had some sort of issues as well🥲.

I can’t be sure if it’s working or not..

Hotspot shield is a trusted name when it comes to VPN clients.. and it offers apps across most operating systems. The iPhone iOS version is easy to use and get up and running. The only issue I have is that I never know when it’s actually working and when it’s not.
The VPN symbol which is usually located on the service bar at the top of the iPhone screen is always hidden, unless WiFi is turned off and I’m using cellular network. When I’m on WiFi the symbol never shows on the service bar, I have to constantly pull down the service menu to see it showing which is a complete pain in the behind. It also disappears frequently, but the HS app will tell me I’m connected - so conflicting information. - also I don’t believe that there is a kill switch built into the app.. so when the VPN does drop I don’t know if I’m exposing myself to the ISP or not!?! And that’s a big problem and completely defeats the point of using a VPN in the first place! - the app has great potential but there are just too many grey areas for me to be able to fully trust that it’s doing what it should be.

You may see the VPN symbol "hide" due to there being no network traffic. If there is any network traffic, you will then see the VPN symbol.
