Veganism is a way of living which seeks to exclude, as far as is possible and practicable, all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose.
There are many ways to embrace vegan living. Yet one thing all vegans have in common is a plant-based diet avoiding all animal foods such as meat (including fish, shellfish and insects), dairy, eggs and honey - as well as avoiding animal-derived materials, products tested on animals and places that use animals for entertainment.
The term “vegan” was coined in 1944 by a small group of vegetarians who broke away from the Leicester Vegetarian Society in England to form the Vegan Society.
They chose not to consume dairy, eggs, or any other products of animal origin, in addition to refraining from meat, as do vegetarians.
The term “vegan” was chosen by combining the first and last letters of “vegetarian.”

Ratings and Reviews
Great vegan travel companion!
We used this during our holiday in rural France to communicate our dietary requirements. It really helped! We ordered our food by pointing at the menu and then showed them the French translation to confirm it was vegan. They waiter then nodded before bringing out the expected vegan food! Will be sure to use this when travelling to other countries!
Easy to use!
Very helpful vegan translation app! Simple to use without internet and both the translated text and images were understood whilst eating out. Will definitely use on my next trip!
Does what it says on the tin
No internet connection needed for my dietary needs now! Pop this open at a restaurant when I’m abroad... brilliant idea.
