Description
This application introduces Chinese characters to non-native speakers or young kids in a fun and intuitive way: to understand their origins as pictures of the objects they represent.
For example, the Chinese character for Sun was originally a circle with a dot in its center. It has evolved over the history, but you can still find traces of its original shape.
Besides explaining the picture meanings, this application also demonstrates the correct way of pronouncing and writing the characters. It even let you practice on your iPhone side by side with the demonstration. You'll find that you will be able to read and write dozens of Chinese characters in no time!

Fantastic language learning software!
This is a fantastic piece of software for learning Chinese vocabulary. It is mostly focused on basic vocab, so is probably not the best for advanced students. But this can handle beginners up to intermediate with ease. When you look at the character page, there are words and phrases that cover the very basic to somewhat obscure. Do beginners need to know idioms and academic words? Probably not, but it's fun anyway. The grouping of characters by subject also prevents that somewhat random list you get if you try to learn them in some sort of "logical" order. It is also a lot easier to read the characters with the type settings to make them bigger. (they even emailed me to tell me of the change! Now THAT'S customer service!)
This software should not be the only method you have of learning the language. It is not possible to do drills and doesn't focus on grammar much. But, it is a useful way of framing the language and learning more about characters you do already know. There are 22 different additional words and phrases linked just to yi (1). Now that's thorough. RECOMMEND!!!!! Worth every penny.
Excellent app!!
If you are learning Chinese you need this app. It's very interactive and has very detailed explanations of each character, making it easier to remember each one. It breaks you in very easily before getting quite heavy around the fifth unit. The tests are excellent and use good examples of the newly learned characters to get you used to seeing them used normally. I use this with a little Chinese character writing book for extra practice and I can read more and more Chinese now. Buy this app if you are serious about studying Chinese and you will never look back.

This app is fantastic for if your the type of person who is visual and physical experience needing a helping hand at remembering.
In Taiwan they say repeating is the only way to master, and with this app, it makes a very simple but effective way to practice watching and repeating the same word from showing you how is done to then doing it your self. This has little insights in to the history behind the word and how it has been transformed, even has a sound button you can click to hear back so you start to gt familiar with the word.
This is a easy going and fun app, I would get it if your really wishing a step in the right direction.
I'm very happy with this app... Keep more developing other words and connecting sentences would be fantastic !
