It works
The proof in any of these policies is what happens when you make a claim. We hired a car in Portugal. The rental company spent ages going over the car identifying minor dinks and marks all recorded on paper. I took photos as well. Then I decided to video as well, so thought should have no problems.
Returned car at end of hire period. The inspection of the car started with going straight to the front offside tyre where they said damage to the tyre and the rim. It was clearly an old accident and it could be seen as such. They weren’t interested in my protests and didn’t examine the rest of the car. After much arguing had to pay up.
Notified iCar who quickly settled my costs. I wanted them to pursue the company and find out if the poor hirer of the same car before and after me also had to pay, but they said it wasn’t worth it.
Great Company
I’ve been using this app for a couple of years as excess insurance costs are so high for hire companies. Easy to use app, well priced. Just had to make a first claim for £800, due to being hit by a guy on an electric bicycle. The claim was easy to make and it was easy to add relevant paperwork to the online claims portal The claim has been agreed and full payment wii be made about 2 weeks after claim put in, even though this was over the Christmas period. Great company and product. I will continue to use them to cover excess insurance charges when hiring a car.
App that has it all in one place!
To have to policy available in an app is great for me rather than referring to emails. The additional features such as recording photos looks useful and I am going to use in next hire.
I just wish I could book the car hire on it too!
