Description

You are more than a profile pic and a grid of edited photos. You are everything you wear, say, do, and love — a beautiful and chaotic mess that means you’re human.

ID by amo is a new kind of social profile that you make with your friends, on a limitless board.

No grid to curate, followers to collect, or meaningless story replies. Just you and the crew, sharing what makes you, you.

Welcome to amo. Just friends.

Needs some polishing

Onboarding and connecting with friends was a pain (I don’t mind the contacts permission). Navigation is clunky and sometimes unintuitive (and I’m a fully invested user with the third app icon unlocked already), like going to comments and back, going to a person’s board and back from the notifications; or “my stuff” which wasn’t clear was even there — I’d re-upload stuff over and over again.

Otherwise had quite some fun for several days straight. But doesn’t seem to be a sustainable app, there’s very little you can do there.

what’s the point?

ngl I get wanting a social platform that feels fun and really love how much they’ve gone to town on all the micro interactions…. But it’s a pretty dead app otherwise. minimal value, but a fun case study of SwiftUI interactions

maybe it’s a messaging app with a really unintuitive interface? maybe it’s a fb wall for gen z? will keep trying and maybe revisit this review

Awful

1) I don’t understand how the founders managed to raise 18M at 100M valuation for a collage-making social app… absolute madness.

2) I had to google articles about their funding round to understand what the app does. You don’t get any information about the app’s functions/features until you share contact info of your friends which is why I won’t use it.

3) The team advertises Amo as if it’s some revolutionary, exclusive, much anticipated social app but I don’t think anyone actually cares
