Hold - make it happen 17+

I recently downloaded the Hold app and have been using it to reduce my screen time. Overall, I like the fact that it allows you to redeem the points you collect for rewards, however there are some issues with the system.

While I appreciate the fact that I can redeem my points for coupons, I feel like the rewards were designed for a specific group of people, meaning that people who don’t meet the criteria of that specific group (including me) feel like we can’t spend our points. This causes people to be less incentivised to continue using the app. Introducing vouchers or gift cards for certain brands or stores could be a great way to incentivise users to continue reducing their screen time

Overall, I would still recommend Hold to others, but I hope to see some updates to the rewards system in the future.

This app is absolutely amazing for me! It truly makes me stop using my phone and I’ve done so much more work than I ever have done before because unfortunately I’m so addicted to my phone!
However, I’m rating this app a 3/5 stars due to the lack of rewards. I love how u can donate to charity I think that’s an amazing reward. But the other rewards r of no interest to me whatsoever. I don’t need a fitness app or protein shakes etc and the other rewards are things that u can probably get online for free or very cheap anyway. So they’re very disappointing and for some people, those rewards will be the only thing they get off their phone for. So for this app to actually work for more people, better rewards need to be provided in my opinion.
But I would highly recommend this app to people, like I have to all my friends. But to motivate people more, rewards need to be better. And you should be able to donate to more charities, and more than once a week. And I don’t know if the money is actually going to the charity or not.

I never make a review on apps, but in terms of functionality and simplicity - it is one of the best productivity apps. It is great for students, anyone with deadlines or just need to get some work done. The work behind the app has improved soooo much since I first started using it years ago. However, I feel this app is missing their potential. They originally started with amazing rewards including vue cinema tickets and popcorns. Beautiful. And slowly or started to feel like rewards were just deals that you probably get in your spam folder, cheapening the worth of this app. Now there are no rewards. However, it is still my favourite productivity app. I just feel they need to bring free incentives back. Easier said than done.
