Wouldn’t be without it

It’s so well made, it’s a pleasure to work with a toolset like this. But what makes it an absolute must for me is the internal file system. Large notes, small scraps, complete drafts, outline schemes, odd thoughts . . there’s no way I could work with such diverse materials in a word processor, in the MacOS or IOS operating system . . and shuffle and reshape work-in-progress, as inspiration reaches me.

Yes, i’m a typography nerd, and use a word processor to produce published pdf versions. Output formatting is a bit clunky and tedious to manage, if you’re crafting, rather than producing text by the yard, pushed to various platforms. But Markdown is nice and clean, for getting the content down, and in the right shape.

Just Brilliant!

I’ve used Ulysses for Mac for a few years now and love it. But I couldn’t imagine why I’d want to use it on the small screen. I’d tried Daedalus but found it confusing by comparison to Ulysses – too ‘Appy’. However I could not have been more wrong about Ulysses fo iPhone. It is the same program I love on the Mac beautifully tailored for use on the small tall portrait screen of a mobile device. It’s all there! Making this one of the most powerful and useful apps I have ever seen on an iPhone. You really could write a book in it! So a big thank you to the soulmen for an exemplary job!

Love the minimalist approach and the use of Smart Folders

Ulysses is one of the best apps for taking notes and writing. I use it for feeding all my blogs with material. Being able to write in markdown is great for speedy writing without breaking your rhythm. Using smart folders based on tags means I can move items through the stages of work - Notes; Writing; Review; Publish, just by changing the tags. It also means I can keep different blogs separated, but still have posts appear in multiple streams if it's a post that will cross-over. Brilliant 👍🏻
