Pretext is designed to work seamlessly with iCloud Drive and other file providers. This means you can open files directly from your Files app, and any changes are saved right back, available to use on other devices and in other applications. No clunky import and export steps just to make an edit – instead, you keep full control of your files.
Pretext works great on all your iOS devices. Thanks to comprehensive keyboard shortcuts, Pretext works especially well with iPad Pro and Smart Keyboard.

*Pretext's theme now follows the system setting for Dark Mode. The in-app purchase now unlocks fixed themes, if you always want light or dark enabled regardless of the system theme.

This app is now working as expected, thank you so much! VERY much better and I particularly appreciate the easily visible cursor as this is something I struggle with in Ulysses.
I would love to see the following:
-more reliable opening of large/long Documents (eg, 500kb type size) as these still seem to crash the app or make it pause.
-adjustable margins in typing mode, or at least the ability to choose between the present, full width, or 3/4 width
-true full screen in typing mode, where even the top bit disappears but can be invoked with a tap/swipe- like Pixelmator does.

I’ve tried two different storage containers, markdown files and plain text. Every time this app crashes. I like the concept so I hope this is sorted.
Developer, I would have emailed you from within the app if you’d provided contact details, but if they’re there I didn’t see them. Not encouraging.
I’m disappointed as I read a good review!

Fantastic
This is a fantastic app that I have come to use daily. It is perfect for my needs. It is fast, intuitive and ‘distraction free’ without being pretentious about it.
Highlights including; it uses the file browser rather than it’s own database. This is perfect for how I organise my files. The keyboard shortcuts! Such a joy to be able to instantly preview with a keyboard shortcut or insert all the syntax. Makes writing documents zippy and painless.

awesome no-frills text editor
this is a non-boutique text editor with an interface very familiar to anyone used to Pages/Keynote/Numbers - but for editing ASCII (although that’s a bit old skool, I assume it creates Unicode text in the 21st century - I’ll have to check one of these days)
it’s great as a free text editor but well worth the IAP to support and unlock a couple of nice-to-have tweaks
