Tides: A Fishing Game 4+

I’m really surprised. With such high ratings it was probably gonna be a decent game but bots can affect everything. However it really is beautiful. It starts with a bummer when you find that you’re not a bird but just a human but something about that makes it even more relatable. At a time when everyone wants to be on the island this little guy is on, something about this is super stress-relieving. I love how there’s a bit of adventure but mostly just relaxation. There are two super small things I might recommend.
1. When the chests open, they are the only sound effect which kind of kills the calm mood you are in. Most sounds can be gentle clicks but that one does feel slightly over the top
2.I wish you could walk over the islands. It wouldn’t change much but could just feel more involved(also it would be cool for the character to physically get on and off the boat rather than clicking a button).

Tides is a very nice game with quite pleasant graphics, although it’s all a bit simple really. The game feels like fun to play and you’ve got to work out which vessel is the best one to use to catch the fish. Not all the fish on the list appear for just one boat. For certain tasks you’ll need to use the right boat to find and catch the fish you need.

The biggest problem with the game is your progress saving. I’ve played this game several times and logged out once I’ve done what I wanted to. When I come to log back in, my progress, upgrades, boats unlocked, fish found and even money and pearls collected has been lower than the last time I played.
There seems to be a lag on the saving, but I haven’t worked out how long it is. It could be 5mins, 10mins or even longer. The devs should fix this as it’s quite annoying when you’ve reached a certain level, to then have to repeat it all when you next log in, just because they haven’t made saving automatic when you close the game.
I now have to waste some time waiting before closing the game, just to save my progress for the next time I log in. Not ideal for quick, casual gameplay.

The whole feel to this game is amazing. I rarely give 5 star reviews but this game deserves one. The beginning of the game is clear and the guide is helpful. Also the graphics are so good and paired with the music really helps convey how tranquil and peaceful the game is. The controls are simple and so is a good game to help relax to. Another great point about this game is it isn’t ad pushy but there is always the option to remove ads completely (I haven’t bought it). I also love how you can have offline earnings so it doesn’t make you stress too much about not progressing.
The only thing I would suggest to help is increase the brightness for the sea or change its colour slightly so the fish’s silhouettes are more visible but make it subtle so it’s not too noticeable, other than that it is great.
I have only really just started playing but I am sure I will keep playing.
