This app has not simply reduced my screen time or the amount of time I spend aimlessly scrolling Instagram, it has completely re-wired my brain. In a week.My screen time has drastically reduced. From the first day of using your app, my overall screen time dropped from an average 8-9 hours, to TWO. The other day, I hadn’t opened Instagram at all, and ironically I only went on it at the very end of the day to post a screenshot of my reduced screen time wins and a mention of the app. Friends of mine have since downloaded BePresent, and we’re talking about how freeing this feels and all the things we can now accomplish with this free time we suddenly have again.I love the AI part of it too. I’ve used this feature several times to check in and I love the responses. I’ve had a smart phone for over a decade, and your app has undone over ten years of bad habits in a single week. My usage is more intentional. I’m just floored by it. I tell everyone about it. So thank you so much for freeing me from this device. I will continue to tell everyone about it (and not just so I can beat them on the leaderboard). I think the only way to improve this app is if you could travel back in time and make it available when I got my very first smart phone.You won’t realise how much you needed this app until you start using. BIG recommend!
Love the idea, just a tweak needed

This is actually the first time I’ve ever written a review for an app, which shows how much I want to see this one do well. I really love the idea behind bepresent and it’s already helped me use my phone more intentionally. The streak and gamification make me feel competitive and motivated not to break it, which helps me stay consistent. I also like the option to limit how many times I can open certain apps per day which makes me use them more intentionally. The streak widget on my screen is also a great motivator to easily track how you’re doing. The only downside for me is that sessions are a little too easy to edit. For example, if I go past my latest time in my night schedule, I can just extend the session immediately. Maybe adding a short timer (like a 2-minute delay before editing) would make the extension more intentional and less of a quick workaround.Overall, it’s a fantastic app with a great purpose, and look forward to see how it evolves.

The only app that’s helped

I’ve had a terrible time reducing screen time in the past. My screen time is usually around the 9 hours a day range. Terrible I know, but nothing could help me stop scrolling. The way this app is designed really works so well with however my brain works. Being able to go on a set amount of times a day for a certain amount of time is game changing. In the past, when timers have just told me I have a certain amount of time, I’m usually too far into scrolling by that point to care about the limit. So I’ve always just ignored it. But not with this app. It’s been amazing. I’m completely off tiktok and twitter now, and I’m on ig for my allotted 5 times a day. My screen time has reduced all the way down to an average of 4 hours a day. And I now feel like I can get that even lower. Amazing app. Would recommend to anyone.

Changed how I use my phone

I’ve always been sceptical of app blockers. But BePresent changed my mind and changed how I use my phone.What I like most about this app is that it’s more carrot than stick. Every day it congratulates you for maintaining your streak; and if you failed, you lose a life rather than resetting your streak. It’s kind about letting you know you failed and doesn’t dispirit you.Every day you earn XP which can help you climb the rankings. This means nothing, but creates a sense of achievement.You can run blocking sessions that blocks every app but the ones you permit.And you can set limits on individual apps, which come with their own streaks. Each time you open that app, you’re presented with a screen. Do you really want to open the app? You’ve already opened it 2 of the 2 times you said you wanted to open it each day. You can open it, but it will break your streak. That little interruption, coupled with the streak, is enough to have me tap “nevermind” most of the time.Don’t get me wrong, the app isn’t perfect. I think that’s mostly to do with how Apple’s Screen Time feature is a little janky, to be honest. So it can be a little frustrating to set up or change settings. But once it’s running, it’s smooth sailing. I’ve never heard back from support, either. I believe it’s just a two-person team, though.But my daily screen time used to average 5 hours. Now it’s down to 2. I’ve reclaimed 3 hours a day. 21 hours a week. That’s almost a whole day of time.So yeah, I reckon this app is pretty good.
