Recent problem after years of Pro account

Have used for many years and switched to App a couple of years back. Love Flickr but in recent weeks have not been able to load the app at all- crashes every time. Had my iPhone 6 for nearly 2 years and never had a problem - hence only 4 star rating. Cannot log on using desktop either due to conflict of user name and email address? Pro account is worth the small fee as it's a great way to archive and share your photo history with friends and groups. Hoping for an update soon to fix this current bug!

I reported this issue in the above review in June and astonished there is still no solution now it's October - I even got stuck in the feedback page trying to post this comment! There are many similar queries in the app support section!!!

Flickr remains the best platform for photographers and other digital visual artists

I have had my Flickr account for some years. There was a time where I just kept it but focussed my attention on Instagram and Facebook instead. The issues with those platforms are that they prioritise popular regular contributors. So unless you pay cash to get your work seen, or constantly post and interact (which I don’t as I work full time and have other priorities too), when you do post, your post goes to last in the row for being seen. In addition, they are not search engine friendly. I was ‘found’ by a photography agency on Flickr and to this day I still generate sales thanks to that. Flickr is my portfolio page I direct clients to. The layout is fab. I wish to see photographers return to the platform and see it for what it is: a great tool to display your work and get it out there in a search engine friendly beautifully designed layout. Thanks Flickr and thank you to the new investors who is once again reinvesting in this great community.

No more access

I used to be a fan but stopped using it a few years ago. I decided to login to see if they had improved the areas which caused me to leave and to enjoy a review of old photos. After several attempts it became apparent they deleted my account! Fair enough, I wasn’t using them for a while and my photos took up space valuable to them, but this somewhat destroys the concept of a safe place to store your photos.

The new complex method of Yahoo’s interruption to the login process is frustrating and unnecessary, it’s not like Flickr is a bank is it? To repeatedly check you are human once isn’t too much but it repeatedly checks over and over again, sometimes less than 5 seconds between each attempt.

I’m sure yahoo will find a convenient way to say it’s my fault but I don’t care, Flickr used to be a simple product to use and that was its beauty, yahoo have turned it into a behemoth and when once loyal users can no longer login to their accounts it turned into an epic failure. If you care for the longevity of your photos then this is not the product for you anymore.
