Best word processing app but could be improved!

Microsoft word is the most popular word processor of choice because it just works, it's intuitive, comes with extensive features and since most Windows computers have Word, you don't have to worry about it losing it's formatting if sharing/editing on a PC.

That being said, Word for Mac and the Office for Mac suite in general could do more to offer the same features present on Windows version of Word (and other Office Apps) and around the same time (often features on the Mac version appear years later even!).

Lastly, AutoSave should be included as standard, without having to purchase OneDrive and/or save files there. If I remember correctly, AutoSave was automatically included (i.e. saved locally) when it was first introduced but now you have to manually save. I don't believe people are going to be swayed to purchase Office365 and save in OneDrive just for Autosave, you're just causing minor inconvenience and annoyance to your loyal customers.

WizeOh ,

AMAZING features. Poor reliability.

My background: I am very tech savvy and will spend entire weekends just playing with and testing new software. I'm full time employed as an ISO Integrated Systems Manager.
Review: I can honestly say that no other word processor that I have come across has even close to the same features as Microsoft Word. Really amazing stuff can be done and created with this. Not only that, but they can be done well!
Due to this, I’m sure I speak for many users when I say that just because I heavily rely on Microsoft Word does not mean its heavily reliable.
So the only downside to the software that seems to be a recurring theme is that I cannot rely on 100%. Some days the app just will not open on my Mac. Other days my document just wont save on the PC… Despite this flaw, nothing else is good enough for me to use in its stead so I’ll just keep enjoying the great and the excellent, and pray that the bad doesn’t come on the days I need it most.

Voiceover Support is Pretty Terrible TBH

Please adopt standard accessibility commands, better voiceover descriptions for track changes, similar to what you have for office for windows and JAWS, and please make it so I can arrow through a document with full markup on, and have voiceover read the text in a sensible mannor. Right now I only get partial lines when arrowing through the text, and have to set up custom voiceover settings to get it to read anywhere near properly, and I need to turn off full markup to make it comprehendable. F6 to get to the ribbon is not an adequate shortcut, the new Macbook Pros don't have a function key row. Hotkeys are not read by voiceover so I need to constantly move away from the text to perform basic functions. I only learnt enough to use this for daily work by reading your accessibility guidance buried deep on your site, and you clearly haven't looked at how blind users use voiceover. We don't arrow through a list, we use VO up and VO down. We don't use F6 to get to the toolbar, we use menus, and memorise commands. We don't use VO up and down to read a document, we use the arrow keys on their own.
