Overall presentation is good - the white background is better, but quite a few niggles.

When you read any article, the article reduces in size - so you can easily see what you've read - but the original size of article feels too big (on iPad).

It's not so much an issue now, but just after update, videos weren't playing.

There doesn't seem to be a way to filter reviews - so you have to scroll through everything to find the ones you're interested in. Then when you do read (and it reduces in size) the review scores are no longer visible. Just doesn't feel as good for a quick scan of reviews 'I'm interested in'.

I agree with some other reviewers - a landscape viewing option would be appreciated - perhaps with articles in two columns.

* Last two days, app keeps crashing. Almost opens and tries to load stories - then keeps quitting. Getting really frustrated since the new update.

Shows some promise, but if I can't even open it! One star from me.

UPDATE: App is now a lot more stable. Seems to be working quite well now - not so concerned about opening and have it crash on me. Landscape mode is also a good update.
Would still like option to filter reviews just for systems I’m interested in.

IGN is my daily go to for all news on the things that interest me the most, and I would visit the app numerous times a day. However, the new update is poor. Sure, it looks good but it is not user friendly. Every time I read a news story and go back to the main feed it takes me back to the top and I have to scroll back down to where I was. This happens when I just go in to tag an item to read later. Also, when I have read an item from my saved items, it does not disappear unless I pull down to refresh the screen! Why do I have to select full screen to watch a video as well? And then unselect it to go back to the item? The old way of rotating my phone worked better. It’s little things in this age of technology that can frustrate you. I also did not see a news item about a new update coming and when it hit lost all my saved items! Poor. I also value the scores that you give items as it genuinely helps me decide if I want to buy a game, watch a tv show or catch a movie. Please do not remove them forever. I love this app and there is nothing else out there that comes close to how good and varied the news items are but I am really disappointed with how things are currently and beg you to get them fixed (if they are in need of fixing or is this the finished article?).

This is an update to a review I posted a while ago. Whilst the app has improved over time, there is a significant issue with the current version which I’ve noticed for a while - whilst scrolling through latest stories, the app will background refresh the list which completely reorders it and therefore loses your place in the timeline. This is really frustrating, and often stories just disappear from the “Latest” tab when this happens. Would be great if this could be fixed and would subsequently put the app back to 4 or 5 stars as it would have been before the “new look”. The list of stories should only refresh when I choose to pull down and refresh it.

I rarely write reviews, but had to for this. Love the app and have used it for years in its various versions, but the new dark mode implementation is poor- it’s impossible to read some of the text. Grey text on black background is not a good reading experience and black text on black background is totally unreadable!! This update needs to be rolled back or fixed fast.
