Description
Try out some of the tests you’ll encounter in your AM2 assessment with this Inspection and Testing prep app, produced in conjunction with Sparky Ninja.
As part of its ongoing work to support candidates taking the AM2, AM2S or AM2E, NET has launched a new app that allows you to try out some of the tests you’ll encounter in the assessment.
Developed by NET in conjunction with the industry famous Sparky Ninja, the app presents five key tests: Continuity of Protective Conductors, Continuity of Ring Final Circuit Conductors, Insulation Resistance, Earth Fault Loop Impedance and Prospective Fault Current.
For each test there is an instructional video with Sparky Ninja describing and carrying out the steps involved. Then via a series of interactive tasks, you can practice by dragging and tapping the animated test instrument, distribution board and other equipment.
Please note: There is no substitution for proper hands-on Inspection & Testing in real life! Whilst the app can provide some guidance and interactive help, it’s just a revision tool. You must talk to your training provider and employer to make sure you are getting sufficient practical experience in this area.

Am2 preparation
Don’t get me wrong this app is good for your testing and inspecting shows you the good ways and different methods on how to do it but the only thing it doesn’t give you is the fault finding aspect on how to do faults but I think it’s a good refresh and good knowledge on how to do your testing and inspecting
Pretty poor
Whilst I appreciate the attempt this app is hard to handle and primitive. As with all this type of education it’s workshop based which is not real life. I understand it’s for AM2 etc but I note it doesn’t do a section on faults you may encounter. Not surprising really as this is where most candidates fail.
