So whilst the app seems to work for me, it is very basic, in need of massive improvement.

I successfully synced my Samsung tv, and an iLumos dimming light switch. That said, the pairing process is somewhat tedious, and once completed, there are no options to customise the remote control, rearrange the positions of buttons etc
. There need to be far more options than just TV, AC and some other set of buttons. Please increase the library of buttons! Also the photo library of icons for each synced device is dreadfully lacking, of which 90% is stupid robot images!? It says there should be the option to take a photo or use your own image, however this is not functional.

Also the selection of pre-stored devices is dreadfully poor. No options for sound bars or remote speakers, games consoles etc....

There should also be the ability to export configurations or somehow save them elsewhere, as devices are easily deleted.

Ultimately the app works, and I am pleased , however it is far from being well finished. Developers please take note!

This is the app that provides control over the Broadlink RM Pro RF/IR controller. The device can control any RF and IR device but I bought this as specifically recommended for iLumos light wall switches. The app really lets down the whole proposition of iLumos. Really iLumos needs to have its own controller and app. Firstly the app is very confusing to use. One of the major deficiencies is that the app does not show the actual status of a light switch. The other deficiency is in setting up a timer. Most home automation relies on timers and schedules. This area of functionality is very buggy. Adding iLumos devices is really frustrating - says press and hold the remote. But the remote only broadcasts for a couple of seconds and not long enough to register on the Broadlink. The trick is to repeatedly press the remote to simulate a single long press.

And a real annoyance is that if you want to change the WiFi network then you have to reset it and set up as a new device. I have not done this but a reset is going to clear out all my painfully added devices. There needs to be a way to backup and restore the configuration

As of the 31st July, a new version of ihc for eu has been added to the Alexa skill store. With this in place and having set up and tested it, it now appears that ihc for eu works. And in fairness, now it works, it works well, simple to set up and Alexa will just find your devices if setup correctly with your RMpro etc. The only remaining niggle I have is that unlike the old broadlink app there is no option to share IR templates and download user created setups (which was very helpful) bring this in and finally, after a looooong time coming we finally have a system which works, without work arounds (Special shout out to Hibberts home tech) unless of course they go ahead and do something silly like change something and break it again...
