Been a member 2 years but today was my first time. It took a lot for me because I’m quite reserved but I had a double shot of tequila and walked into the unknown. I left having a great time and thinking why did I leave if so long. I was going to cancel my membership but I’m now going to renew it. My first experience was a good one. Thanks guys. It was worth the money
Like Internations, hate the App!

As a never before Expat moving to a new city on my own, I joined Internations, met loads of new friends, go to quite a few events, I think it’s worth the cost and I recommend them to people I meet. I still recommend you join and go to events if you want some new pals in a new place! But the app. The app is terrible, doesn’t load, slow to load, message badges and alerts don’t clear, searches give partial results so when you are searching for an event you know is happening from an email, you can’t see it, it errors every now and again and the interface is pretty, but not overly functional or intuitive. Pictures from events are hard to find and you will give up when trying to view due to load times. Trying to approve friend requests say they go through then they don’t next time you look so you try again. I also like to see who has already signed up for the event, this is a good function, but only gives you a partial list then gives up. Basically every function doesn’t work reliably. Worst app on my phone by far due to the frustration it gives, I have just been trying to find out more about an event at the end of the month I am interested in and after trying for 10 minutes and not achieving, I’m writing this review. Come on guys, it’s a paid service, pick up the quality, I want to give you five stars!

1/ I had reported to them a male, who is using platform to contact me and later he abused - please note that police and court are involved, so they received all the reports from police and court I had, BUT their response was that as “that happened outside of the platform, we are not able to help you, will not take any actions agains him - including the new profiles he created, and continue to navigate me how to delete my profile 2/ InterNations allow people with criminal records full access 3/ Subscription doesn’t work

This is a really handy way of getting to know people in an area that you intend to move to. We were looking to move to Chiang Mai in Thailand and we have had great communication with people there. We get lots of advice and inside tracks from online discussion with expats there. We also had a holiday there and joined in on one of the social events. It was great fun and made some new friends. Ready for when we move out there.
