A lot of room for improvement

I'm quite disappointed with this app. One of the main reasons I purchased the Elite Digital trainer was that it was marketed as having the ability to design a course and the traininer would adjust resistance to simulate the terrain. Well the way you design the course is with this app but it doesn't seem that you can design the course on your computer and then import to the app; you have to design it in the app on the Apple device AND you can only have up to 8 way points. I tried designing a 115 km course that I want to train for an event but it was not possible on a 4 inch screen with only 8 waypoints. I'm finding my Elite experience lacking all round; the digital device and app are not very intuitive and the instructions are poor. I'd try the My ETraining app but there is absolutely nothing that tells me what it would give me that this one doesn't so I'm loath to pay the €9.99 fee, albeit that it's not a lot, when my experience so far leaves quite a bit to be desired.

Getting there

The trainer is amazing, and the app extends it nicely. It is however extremely limited and a bit buggy.

On iPhone 4S I've had big trouble with the app releasing sensors back to the OS again, even when the app is forced shut. It also can't background.

There is no way of exporting the training file for a session, which for someone interested in training with a PM is sort of essential. This is especially necessary as the qubo PM doesn't broadcast on a separate ant channel and therefore can't be detected by other apps.

There is also no way of putting in you own max HR, instead it relies on the flawed 220-age calculation.

You can create routes to ride, but again this is incredibly limited, and you can upload your own recorded ride to follow. Hopefully many of these features will be fixed in new releases.

not as good as it used to be

Until this year I would have given this a much better rating!.
I've been using this app with my iPad and the elite trainer for about 4 years now and iver the last 6 months the app has become more and more flaky and frustrating; I often have difficulty getting the app working and it repeatedly flashes warning notes that no ANT+dongle is connected, despite the dongle being present. now it is also starting to crash mid training session. given that this app was last updated in Sept 2013, I think its high time the developers did some upgrade work to keep it current with the IOS system that Apple are running!
