Everyone is online these days, including people who want to promote terrorism. iReportIt by Raven Science is a smartphone app designed to make reporting online content to law enforcement quick, easy and secure. The app allows users to report online content annonymously.
With iReportIt by Raven Science, it is possible to report the following by submitting:
• Articles, images, speeches, or videos that promote terrorism or encourage violence.
• Websites made by terrorist or extremist organisations.
• Videos of terrorist attacks.
Counter terrorism policing is heavily reliant on intelligence to help protect society from violent attacks. Content posted online is an important source of this intelligence. Users who see disturbing content can now help police in these efforts, whilst remaining totally anonymous. Any content featuring a ‘share’ function can be passed to the Metropolitan Police Counter Terrorism Internet Referral Unit via iReportIt quickly and easily without identifying the user.
