Description

iWriteWords teaches your child handwriting while playing a fun and entertaining game.

How to play:
Help Mr. Crab collect the numbered balls by dragging him with your finger - and drawing the letter at the same time.
Once all the letters in the word are drawn properly, a cute drawing appears.
Slide the letters into the spinning hole and advance to the next level.

Good but needs work

Good. My 4 yr old likes it. However I think when it reads back the letter it should be in the childrens alphabet ( like "curly cuh" or " duh" not "dee" when read phonetically of course)

Also I am not sure about the method of writing. Some of the letters the guide numbers seem wrong. Not the way I would write.

On the whole, pretty good though.

Highly recommended

My daughter loves this. She is 4 years old. IMO this is a great way for them to learn how to write letters correctly. Really impressed! I look forward to more words. My only wish is that the devs find someone with an english accent for the UK itunes version, as the one used is very strong US.

Good BUT ....

My two year old Grandson absolutely loves this and it has taught him to write letters and numbers with ease. However, he's now learning phonics and this urgently needs an English accent for the UK as well as phonics to make it a really useful tool for small children. You can't synthesise "see - ay - tee" into CAT. It's a good tool which, with a few tweaks, could be great. Please sort it! Thank you.

Developer Response ,

You can change the voice setting to UK English.
But we design iWriteWords for learning to write, not for learning to read.
The app focuses on teaching handwriting by writing one letter at a time.
We can not use phonetic sounds because some of them are represented by more than one letter.
For example, the word "chair" will force iWriteWords to display more than 1 letter at a time as a single unit, "ch", and "air".
