I really love how much information you have with this app and on the website. The graph often investment through the ages is my favourite. It’s a really transparent way of investing, where I have seen higher than anticipated returns over the past year and a half (much better than a savings account!). This is dependent on your individual risk appetite, which is established before you start investing. I think the app is brilliant, giving real time valuation of your portfolio (so I find myself checking up on how the funds are doing daily!). I can split funds into various risk portfolios, hold a separate pension pot, am in the process of transferring my ISA, and fees are deducted automatically so I don’t even notice them go. Plus, the return is post-fees, so I’m still making a return even after fees! I’d recommend to anyone who’s looking to invest. There’s nothing to stop you from investing a small amount first, to get a feel for things and play around with risks first, and then seeing if it’s your cup of tea, as I understand that there’s no exit fees either. The Socially Responsible Portfolio also has excellent returns and I would highly recommend.

Absolutely love the updated version of this app. Definitely helps to respond to calls for more UX functionality including the ability to edit risk level in app, change to/from fixed or fully managed portfolio management, and the ability to see the individual ETFs behind each pot and their rationale. Very transparent and clear design, in line with the ethos of Nutmeg and it’s wider mission. My favourite addition to the app is the new focus on social, environmental and ethical investing. You are now able to see how your investments score in a number of areas such as CO2 emissions, and even the percentage of companies in your investment pot that employ more than 30% women on their boards. I am so impressed that Nutmeg are giving customers more oversight and control of the social, environmental and ethical impact of their investments.

It’s disappointing a company the size of JP Morgan can’t seem to get this app working correctly. Formerly under NutMeg when first signing up the app doubled my accounts and my money, though of course that was an error and I had to wait some time for their back office to fix it. When you pay funds into your account sometimes it fails to show as ‘Pending’, making you nervous that something’s gone wrong with the transaction. Today I’m unable to log in, when entering my pin or FaceID it just comes up with a message that ‘Something went wrong’. I’ve closed and tried multiple times without success, and annoyingly without logging in there appears to be now way to contact anyone without reverting to the website. I find it annoying that when you are logged in your homepage always has an ‘add account’ section under your existing account. I understand the need for them to drive more business from existing customers but from a UI point of view it just looks unclean and unfinished. I kind of wish I’d chosen a different provider because there are too many things that frustrate me about the app.

2 Step crashes app - very poor

Have been nutmeg customer for a good few years. Three issues with the app. First, since 2 step verification was enforced (you could no longer sign into the app unless it was active).I experienced that the app crashes after username/password. Basically, there is a timing issue between request & receive sms passcode (can’t be a mobile provider issue) and the login timeout window being too short. This either results in crash or several sms requests occur and if you’re lucky the app might accepts one of the multiple passcodes.Second issues being the app can crash once logged if you try to look at your profile ?Lastly (a long standing issue) the app CANNOT deal with multiple accounts such that if you have more than one nutmeg online account the app only holds a 4x digit pin for one of those accounts and so EVERY time there is a successful login you have to recreate the pin for that password only for it to be ignored if you’ve subsequently login with another account. This is such a bad user experience!!!
