Every time a new feature, there’s a screw up
I just love the Jacqui Lawson games, apps, etc, but it is so frustrating that nearly every time they launch an upgrade or new feature then the licensing is screwed up. The country cottage kitchen is yet another. I’ve bought the expansion, but it will not allow me to launch the kitchen, and keeps saying buy it, but then says you’ve already bought it, but will not activate it. This happened with just about every product launch the last three years - advent calendars, country cottage, garden and now kitchen. Eventually it gets sorted, but why can J L not test the upgrades properly? They’d get 5 * from me every time then. But I’m yet again sorely tempted give 1 * and ask for my money back.
Latest version so much better
Very glad to see the latest version so much improved, my earlier review has become obsolete so I’m changing it. I’m really enjoying the latest version without the frustrating limits. Also the new reward for reaching the goal each day is worth having. I particularly like designing the outside of the cottage and the way the points needed for each thing reflect the difference in outlay that would be needed in the real world, some things need to be saved up for, some can be done fast.
I’m looking forward to the promised game additions and will almost certainly be buying the expansion packs when they come out. Well done on listening and improving it so fast. And extra thanks for this first game being free.

New version 1.2 available now! Scoring system improved, no limit on points score per day. Future releases will include new games, puzzles and other pastimes – please bear with us!
Rubbish
Well I am the latest customer to have problems with the new kitchen expansion pack. I bought it and used it and now I am being told to buy it again. All my cottage progress has been lost and the whole thing is a total mess. Apparently Jacquie Lawson has over 100 pages of help on their website covering the most common questions. Wow! If you have that many help pages surely you have realised you have serious technical problems. Might be worth sacking your IT team and starting again before you have no customer base left. Personally I am giving Jacquie Lawson 48 hours to sort out their product accessibility and then I will be requesting a refund from Apple. It might be nice if they used their database systems and sent an email to everyone who has bought the cottage and the expansion packs explaining what they are doing about this matter!
