All in all it’s a cool service

It offers a lot of content for the price you pay. Really beautifully curated channels with true expertise behind it. The flow seems to work and I don’t get bored like when I listen to playlists. I discovered already a lot of cool new music. Love the artist pics fading in when listening. It also offers some cool videos which I can zoom to my TV. I already watched a few sessions and shows. Nice! And finally the articles are interesting. Overall, a real deep dive into Jazz and everyone who likes Jazz will enjoy it as there is nothing comparable out there. Yes, search engine is missing and I wish I could listen to some albums or put songs into a playlist. But I understand from their website that all of this is coming with the next version which then will be a more expensive tier, so if you want it all you will need to pay more. I probably will stay in this lower priced entry tier since I have already a music subscription, but let’s see.

Voyage of discovery

This app is a total voyage of discovery mainly due to the large number of beautifully curated channels – make sure you listen to Giant Steps. The artist biogs and pictures are great. I love the mix of mainstream and niche and the look of the app too. It’s really easy to navigate around and I keep getting tempted to try something new and out of my comfort zone. It’s a whole education. Spent yesterday evening with Signature Voices. I was completely absorbed by the Tubby Hayes documentary - knew nothing of him and began to watch it all over again from the beginning.

Loads of issues

Never left a review before but really underwhelmed by this.

There’s no search feature. Surely this is a must for any app like this.

I can’t create my own playlist. Same as above - part of a music app like this is the fun in putting my own play lists together.

5 skips per hour? Why? What’s the justification? I can’t search for music so if I’m listening to a playlist and I don’t like their choices, that shouldn’t be my problem. I shouldn’t have to sit through an admittedly subjective difference in taste. Or even if I know a song on there but don’t want to listen to it right now, or if it’s already one I hear a lot. Just seems a bit pointless.

You can’t see their playlists, so no idea what else is on there/how long it is/if there’s anything you know/have heard of.

The songs jump around a lot. If I pause a song and press play again, it skips to the next song. When I go into my play history, I can’t go back and listen to the first song. I guess I have to wait for it to come back on. But yeah I have my 5 skips so got to get to the bottom of the playlist first. And like I say who knows how long that might take.

On top of all this I’m paying for the pleasure. Happy to be proved wrong by future updates because the whole concept is really good.

Should say as well the written and audio/video content is good, as is the breadth of music. Just wish there was more to the actual app itself.

Sorry to hear that you are missing some more interactive features on our jazzed+ tier, but as stated on our website we are introducing a full on-demand jazzed premium tier with search later this year. All of the features you requested and more will become available then.
