Jelly Splash: Fun Puzzle Game 4+

I absolutely LOVED playing Jelly Splash from the moment it came out. However, I am now offended that they are contravening my Right to limit data collection in accordance with Article 18 GDPR by blocking my ability to play the game unless I divulge my date of birth. Why do Wooga need this? I am the owner of my phone and I have been clearly playing this game for over 10 years so I’m hardly underage. I am also the holder of an old email address and an iPhone and I pay the bills. I am quite frankly disappointed with the fact that unless I give them this information, they are now refusing to let me continue playing my game - hence the rating of 1 star!

I loved this game for a long time, it was just tough enough to provide a challenge whilst still allowing for good progression that gave it a good amount of satisfaction that kept me coming back for more.

Recently I have been unable to pass a level for nearly a month, using all my lives a couple of times a day. It now appears to me that without spending a considerable amount of cash I will not be able to pass this level quickly enough to maintain the satisfaction that I previously had playing. I need to add I’m not averse to putting some cash into the game, as I like to support developers that make games I enjoy. However, this got me to thinking, if I do pay to get some coins there are a few things that are niggling away at me:

1. Despite buying the coins, I’m unsure actually how much benefit I will actually get. Super jellys or Color splash appear to be utterly useless in this level. Only extra moves would be slightly useful.
2. When will I get into a position when I’ll have to purchase considerable amount of coins later on? I have a feeling it’ll be more often than it should be.

With that I’ve decided to delete this game from my phone. I feel like a victim to the freemium model again and am not willing to pump in so much cash that could buy me loads of paid for games that will probably provide the same level of satisfaction.

Let me begin by saying that this is one of my fave App Store games ever, I’ve had it and played it for years now and also managed to get my dad completely addicted to it! The developers always keep it fun with challenges, tournaments and extra levels (ancient tower). Now the reason I’m rating it down is - it works great on my new iPhone, yet my iPad is now a little old and struggles loading the game, I’ve had crashes in between every level, mid game, after ads and so on. I understand that you’re trying to keep up to date with technology and what not but I’ve not had any of my other iPad games crash this much. Also there is no way to sync your devices, so I’m further advanced on my iPad (the only reason why I haven’t deleted it and kept in on my phone only) which is a little annoying as I try to keep up on my phone also. If this was fixed I’d happily give it 5 stars. 😊
