KEF Stream 4+

Absolutely love the speakers, fab big sound did such a compact size. However, this app or the app/speaker combo isn’t ready for market. My god I want to die after 2 or 3 songs when the music yet again just stops or halts. Is it the WiFi connection I don’t know but it is incredibly frustrating to play (or not rather) music with this app. Sort it out pretty please. Further: why can I not see the current song playing?? And when i switch between apps and go back to playing music, my previous KEF view is lost! I.e. having had my playlist on, and switched to f something else in another app I have to go all the way back to selecting my music, playlists, playlist and scroll back to where I was every single time. Which happens a lot as the music keeps randomly stopping.

The KEF LSX speaker’s are a tiny delight to behold, the flaky KEF stream app renders them pretty much useless if you expect to be able to stream music. Absolutely dreadful and shouldn’t have gone to market with them, the app continuously loses connection with the WiFi and the gap between tracks is ridiculously long. I’m used to listening to LP’s and I could get up and turn an album over in the time it takes for the KEF streaming service to load the next track. Such a bitter disappointment, sort it out KEF.

For years (literally, years: I wrote a damning review 4 years ago!) this was a horror show. And given the standard of apps these days and the cost of the speakers it’s poorly designed. But finally I can control Tidal reliably from the App without having to fall back on Audirvāna or Roon. Finally…
