Description

A day can seem like a very long time when you’re working from home.

Keybreak for Mac can help anyone who spends much of their working day at a computer. Tiredness, motivation and focus can all be a problem, let alone the very real health implications of sitting down for long periods. Based on how you actually use your computer, Keybreak recommends regular stretch breaks through your working day, leaving you feeling refreshed and re-energised to carry on with your work.

When a break is recommended, you can start a two-minute series of gentle stretches, with visual demonstrations of the stretches to be followed. The Keybreak stretch programs have been worked out with the help of Osteopaths and Physiotherapists, and are specifically targeted for people working at computers. Stretching both strengthens and encourages efficient blood flow in our muscles, which in turn leads to us feeling fitter and healthier. Building regular and focussed stretches into a daily work routine can ease muscle tension, improve posture and circulation, reduce the risk of back and neck pain, and help manage stress.

How does Keybreak work?

The Keybreak system sits in the background of your desktop. By assessing the number of keyboard and mouse clicks, together with the degree of mouse movement, the system determines when a break would be preferable. At that point, a notification appears suggesting that it would be advisable for you to take a Keybreak, and perform a series of gentle stretches with video demonstrations of the stretches. You can agree, postpone or skip the function, in order to suit your particular work commitment at that moment.

Relief is at hand!

Keybreak certainly helped me recently during the tiresome task of revising and editing of a long technical article over several hours. No headache, no stiff neck or lower back pain for once thanks to the timely reminders to take regular restorative breaks and do some short and gentle guided restorative exercises. It’s really well-designed and easy to tailor to ones specific needs. I believe it would be of particular benefit for people whose job requires them to sit in front of screens for most of their working days, and I would imagine it would also improve work efficiency and productivity by helping employees remain sharp, relaxed and comfortable whilst at work; furthermore, and speaking as a doctor, it may well also help reduce employee sickness and absence in the long term. I’m already recommending it to friends. Top marks Keybreak!

Has actually made my day more productive.

From using this software for just over 2 weeks now, ive found out how little i was actually moving during the working day!
Simple stretches and small breaks between tasks have been a great way to keep me from seizing up. and actually has reduced fatigue after my work day is done! would highly reccomend.

Pretty good

Bought this on a whim but I'm glad I did.

Stretches are really clear and do seem to target the areas that get stiff when you work on a computer for a long time.

This could benefit from some form of rewards system though - points or tophies?? I think this would really enagage people to keep up the good habits!!
