Kobo Books & Audiobooks 12+

I love Kobo, but......

I have been using Kobo for some years now. It is by far and away the best reading app available, as it’s flexible, well presented on the page, has a wide range of books in most genres and has great tech support when needed. It also has lots of offers, which over the years have become much better, with popular books included in the offers. For someone like me who usually reads daily, both hard copy and digital books, it’s a great app. BUT......

Why oh why, after years of Insiders trying to persuade Kobo to have a system where read books are marked as “finished” are we now back with “Unread”? It’s infuriating! I have literally hundreds of digital books, both classic and current fiction. Yes I can remember which classics I’ve read, but current fiction, when I buy multiple books at a time, no I can’t. The latest update has, yet again, changed all my “finished” books back to “unread”. It’s infuriating!!! And it will certainly stop me purchasing for quite some time as I try to sort out what has been read and what hasn’t. PLEASE sort this out! I wish I hadn’t updated the app. Too late now.

Kobo App is great but few issues there...

Nicely presented and good range of selections at least for the topics I’ve been searching such as self development matters.
However, when searching books a filter separating audiobooks from e-books when searching would be much appreciated.
Secondly, with audiobooks perhaps better to change the audio track slider mechanism to better get to the point in the audio segment one is interested in.
Lastly when signing out, downloaded books are removed, hope they can remain on rather needing to re-download audiobooks all the time.
In general Rakuten Kobo is a decent app but with these issues resolved I would gladly give it five stars.

Horrible App

This App is horrible.
It lost a number of books I had bought before they took over WH smith, and they would not accept that I had bought them so I had to buy them again, which I now regret doing but it was to keep a series together.
Recently two books simply won’t work, if I try to read them they cause the app to crash and the only way I can get it back is by deleting it and re installing it which wastes time. And then I still can’t read those books.
Customer support is useless,you keep getting replies from different people with no continuity about the issue in question. They suggested I use the reader on their web site which is OK, but you need an internet connection, and then, half way through a book it just lost my place entirely.
This app is a complete waste of space on my iPad and I would just like to able to move all my books from kobo to an app that actually works, ideally Apple Books, but even kindle app is better than this. But of course I can’t move my books unless I buy them all over again so I am stuck with it.
