** AN INNOVATIVE EARTHQUAKE DETECTION METHOD **

EMSC detects earthquakes using:

∘ Earthquake witnesses, who are the first to feel an earthquake, hence the first informed that an event is happening.

∘ Internet and mobile technologies, which allow rapid information collection of the effects observed by witnesses, who are asked to fill in a questionnaire and share photos and videos.

A friend recommended this app and I find it very interesting, so I look at it regularly. Fortunately I live in the UK well away from most seismic activity. As a student of the Bible I am aware that we are living in a time period commencing in 1914 the Bible calls the last days (2 Timothy 3:1-5) One of the 40+ prophecies to mark this time of Jesus Christ’s second coming though he is present invisibly was given by Jesus himself in Luke 21:11 “There will be great Earthquakes, and in one place after another food shortages and pestilences;” Did post 1914 see an increase in such quakes? Data obtained from the National Geophysical Data centre in Boulder Colorado supplemented by a number of standard reference works a tabulation was made in 1984 to include quakes of 7.5+ (Richter scale) or destruction of US$5+ million or 100+ deaths. It was calculated that in the 2,000 years before 1914 there had been 856 of such quakes. The same tabulation reveals that in the 69 years since 1914 there have been 605 of such quakes. This represents an annual average that is twenty times as great since 1914. Bible prophecy being fulfilled? Read Joshua’s words in Joshua 23:14.
All The best, Timaldo.

Thanks for the rating

I’m using my iPhone so I find the map feature rather small, although you can enlarge it, it does become a bit blurred. I use it everyday, but I’m new to the App so I’d like to review it again in the future. Thanks. Now updating my review. Thank you for your quick response. I’ve had more time to explore the menu & to look at the map more “carefully”. It takes me time due to my medical conditions. This App helps to open my world further so although I am not immediately in an area of Earthquake activity (currently). Although a couple of years ago we had a minor quake felt in Cardiff (Wales) I believe centred by Swansea (Wales). I find the subject very interesting and as I said, use the App every.

Hi Rob, thanks for your comment. I believe you are talking about the maps we generate, not the interactive one. Correct?

cloudier!!! ,

Our trembling world!

Since starting to use this App 18 months ago I have found it endlessly fascinating.
It has given me a different perspective of what is happening on planet Earth, the fact that earthquakes are happening all over our planet and yet we only get to hear about the really big ones!
Reading the descriptions of the aftermath of severe tremors and how many people are coping with this activity on a frequent basis has been a real eye opener and now my grandchildren are interested too!

Thank you. Don't you think that a "fascinating app" would need a 5 star rating :-)? Good rating is essential for us (free app, no advertising, no use of data for commercial purposes) a not for profit ngo, as we need sponsors and external funding to keep free services at the point of use!
