You can collect earn coins by delivering them, also "nearly missing" cars and people who walks. Coins can be used to improve accelerate speed and/or brake power. You can drive as fast as you wish when you have a car with strong brakes. Also you can always rely on a car with high accelerate speed about weave in and out of traffic.
