The animated cutscenes, remastered in HD, tell key parts of the tale in gorgeous detail. And ever-present in the background, the original soundtrack, beloved by many players, keenly captures the mood of the Layton universe.
With puzzles created by Akira Tago, author of the ‘Atama no Taisou’ (lit. ‘Head Gymnastics’) books, Professor Layton and the Curious Village brings together more than 100 brain teasers including slide puzzles, matchstick puzzles, and even trick questions to flex players’ observation, logic, and critical thinking skills. Ratings and Reviews
I LOVED this game on Nintendo DS. I spent oh so many (frustrating) hours on it, trying to solve puzzle after puzzle. It's brilliant that this is now available on mobile, & worth the price tag. It's as good as, if not better than, I remember it. The HD graphics are awesome!
The puzzles start off easy but get gradually harder, & they are all integrated in to an intriguing story. If you're like me, a long time will pass between you playing this for the first time & putting it down later on.
I hope you bring the other DS games to mobile, Pandora's Box, Unwound Future & Spectre's Call. I will certainly be buying them all.
How did the developers not see these bugs
So I downloaded this because I remember this being the first professor Layton game that I played and thoroughly enjoyed it and wanted to have a blast of nostalgia. However immediately after loading it up I realised that the cutscenes weren’t working but I continued to play it anyway. I wasn’t even twenty minutes in to the game before I realised it couldn’t load a cutscene and I could no longer progress with the game, I tried reloading it and uninstalling it but the game would not allow me to progress past this point. This therefore has been the biggest waste of ten pounds I think I have ever experienced. I am not trying to say this can’t be a good game however the fact that something like this has bypassed the developers for this game is perplexing and I feel that they require to look in to this
Loved this game on the original Nintendo DS and was absolutely thrilled when I saw it in the App Store. By far my favourite puzzle game series of all time and is worth every single penny. Cheaper than the Nintendo version and just as good maybe even better since the graphics have been improved to HD making the game run a lot smoother. If you love puzzle games or a good mystery than you’ll love this game for sure. Just hoping that they bring the rest of the series out for everyone to enjoy since the other stories are just as amazing and captivating as this one.
