Description
This official Leap Top-Up app from Transport for Ireland (TFI) allows you to check your balance and top-up your TFI Leap Card - directly from your NFC-enabled iPhone.
Open the app and simply hold your TFI Leap Card to the back, top of your iPhone to instantly check your balance, collect a pre-paid ticket, or top-up your card – anytime, anywhere.
Key Features:
* Check your balance – see the current balance of any TFI Leap Card
* Top-up instantly by using the dial to select a top-up value or tap to enter your desired amount
* Collect pre-paid tickets e.g. Bus Éireann TaxSaver tickets or tickets bought online from LeapCard.ie
* View your last 5 transactions
* Receive receipts via email for top-ups made via the app
* Save your payment details
* View your card information at a glance
* View ticket information for tickets on your TFI Leap Card
Note: The Leap Top-up app's minimum requirement is an iPhone 7 running iOS 13.0.
Due to the NFC chips used on iPhone 7 and 7 Plus some users may experience scanning issues or delays when scanning their TFI Leap Card. If the app fails to read the card it is recommended to adjust the position of the card.

‘Please wait’… then nothing happens.
Edit: the developer got in touch with me to ask me to uninstall and reinstall the app. This didn’t work when I originally tried it, but it works now. So I’m changing my review from one star to a five star and I really appreciate the developer getting in touch with me. It’s such a cool thing to be able to scan your card when you need to from the comfort of your own phone. :-)

Excellent!
Easy to use, scans LEAP card & displays balance. Enables you to check previous transactions & what bus fares etc you bought. Great design too.
Rubbish
Have to scan the card which is really hard to get to work. Don’t know why there’s no option to input the card number. It then doesn’t have the card. My payment didn’t go through as it said I hadn’t chosen the correct card type but there was no box for selecting card type, no auto top up. Feels like it’s 10 years behind the Oyster card that they could just copy.

Sorry that you had this experience with the app. Please ensure that the card is scanned at the NFC location in your iPhone device. Please set up the auto-top up on the leapcard.ie website, where you can register your leap card and set the auto-top up.
