I’ll begin by saying that this game is actually really well put together and is an excellent example of how to “moblify” a classic well loved franchise. The controls are well suited to touch, the sound and graphics do justice to the original and the gameplay, although sometimes fiendishly tricky, is very reminiscent of one of my favourite Amiga games from the early 90s. What isn’t reminiscent of that era is the scourge of greedy money-grabbing devs and, in the case of this game, ludicrously overpriced micro-transactions. I don’t expect to get something that has obviously had time and care spent on it for free and would be happy to buy the game outright....you know, like in the old days when you paid your £7.99 for a FULL game on cassette then got home and spent 25 mins waiting for it to load! A sensibly priced option to buy the complete game would have resulted in a sale from me but as it stands, I’ve deleted the game because it’s almost impossible to get very far into it without being forced to part with cash....£6.99 for 2 hours of “unlimited play”...what the heck were these devs on when they came up with that one (and that’s just one of many). To be fair, my criticism of the devs choice and hatred for money-grabbing micro-transactions isn’t solely aimed at this company but the games industry in general. What’s wrong with giving us the choice to buy a game outright (at a sensible price) without trying to fleece us each time we play?A real shame as this game had the potential to be a classic...classic but has instead been ruined buy short-sightedness and greed.
