I have hoped for a long time that the App Store would one day have this game and I finally found one. This is beautifully made. The design is fantastic. And you level up and go from world to world, it is very thoughtful.
I think what a lot of these other reviews are struggling with is the concept that it is an App and Apps do not work the same way old versions on other consoles worked and it had to be adapted properly for an App. The concept of energy for example, is an App thing. I do think the prices were set too high and they should offer the chances to win unlimited energy for a few hours (Candy Crush does that), but I find the energy I do gain back lets me play a few levels (you just have to think and use them wisely).
I have never had any problems with it not being online and crashing. I have never found fault. Hopefully over time they will bring in a few of the old features and actions. Tbh, why would you want never ending unlimited energy? You would begin to find it very boring if it was a non-stop game. Instead, you build your way up through each levels, and you just have to plan when you play each level to work out how to use less energy. I love it, and hopefully it makes improvements to the energy feature to give everyone the best game possible!
A great blast from the past
I applaud the developers in reimagining this awesome game for touch screen. My siblings and I were very excited when we found it, it was one of our favourites as kids in the 90s. I have no problems with the rate of energy flow as I don’t like my games to monopolise my whole day. I have no interest in the challenges, and I’m sad that they are the only reward for collecting tribes now. I play because it’s fun, not because I want lemmings to die. But I understand that many people probably enjoy the difficulty of the challenges. All in all, a great game with the options of fun or difficult play. I uninstall games often, if I find I’m not focussing enough on studies, but this one always stays.
And a side note to all the moaners regarding ads... Im sure you get paid for whatever job you do, so that you can buy food and pay rent etc - well game devs need food and a house too. So either pay up (£6.99 for 2hrs energy is less than the minimum hourly wage), or put up with the ads which allow you to play for free.
Good with potential to be great!!!
It’s great to see this game back again. It was one of my favourite games on my Commodore Amiga and C64. Although the game is good, maybe I’m just a bit nostalgic but I remember the game having much more variety in the levels with a greater variety of tools, gadgets and puzzles to complete.
Perhaps when I have completed more than the five worlds completed so far, but it has become very samey already. I really hope it improves further on otherwise I’ll resign it to the play now and again category. The last version I had before upgrading to a mac and Microsoft computers, a truly sad day, the Amiga was an excellent machine, but I digress, it would be nice to be able to build your own levels, like the evolution of so many really popular games. If it was made truly awesome, release it with limited levels then let let people choose to pay something for the full access. If it was good enough I would certainly pay a REASONABLE fee, not the absurd cost of games like Final Fantasy, I know it’s not a fair comparison, but you know what I’m getting at.
So come on guys, save us from Lemming obscurity or haven’t I gone far enough yet in the game... who knows?????????
