Good, however…..

This is a good app and the effects are extremely effective when you have some good background pictures. My ‘however’ comment is that it’s temperamental when selecting what app the snow is ‘captured’ by and which it ignores - I’ve found I often have to turn off the app for certain programs (like Logic Pro).
It’s best when the app in use does not touch the top of the screen, this enables the ‘Let it Snow’ app to recognise that a window is open.

Great app, but not for all users, especially those that use complex-screen programs.

A few improvements?

I loved this when I bought it years ago, but the "Pro" upgrade leaves something to be desired. The "drift" is just a bit of cottony snow at the bottom of the screen. I was hoping the snow would actually react and blow. Snow on the desktop image only is what I really wanted, and that's great except it seems to stop the snow from building up on windows, which was the best thing about this app. So you either have to let it snow in front of your windows and build up, or let it snow behind and not build up. And I also hoped that the multiple "screens" would mean that it would work with Mac's Spaces. But it doesn't. It continues to only work only in the first space you activate it in. I used the spaces feature all the time, and I really wish I could have the app running in all of them. And it's baffling that this isn't a simple feature, since any application can be set to appear in one specific space or all of them. Anyway, it still looks nice, but I'm feeling a little ripped off by the so-called Pro features.

Lovely snow!

I love this. Lots of config options, but I prefer the basic config. Four stars, because it needs to handle changing screen resolutions better. Also, somewhat GPU instensivve, so you don't always want it running. It'd be nice if I could disable the snow from the menu without actually stopping the app (so that I could then enable it from the menu bar). And, maybe it would be nice if it had a low power mode: so it interefered less with my work.
