Description
In many countries - especially in europe - you will find a special character combination on a license plate that tells you where a car is coming from or gives other informations about the car.
LicensePlate comes with car license plate shortcuts of several countries, from which you can choose very fast and intuitive (see country list below). It shows informations about the region where a car is registered and links to the maps application, so that you can see on the map where the car is coming from and use the maps application to let it show you the way to that specific location. A global full text search or simple search for plate keys is another part of LicensePlate. Once you've spotted a plate you can mark it and build up your collection of plates you've seen on the street.
This application is ideal for longer road trips. Be sure to have an answer when your kids play a License Plate quiz again... and hey, i like that Pub quiz idea...!

It does what it says on the tin
Last week I gave this app 3 stars. However, the developers have clearly taken the comments seriously and have made changes very quickly and this deserves some recognition - hence the 5-star rating.
For future development, it would be fun to link to the Maps app.

Okay, so it isn't the most exciting app around but it's okay.
So why not 5 stars? Well, it would be helpful to be able to change languages or, at the very least, see some consistency with regards to language. If it's going to have Great Britain at the top, for example, I expect to see "Scotland" and not "Schottland".
Still, if this little ditty of an app can help me win a pub quiz, it will have been 59p well spent. ;-)

Whenever my girlfriend and I are on the M6 we 'number plate spot'. Great wee app for clearing up debates on region. Just a side note for the developer.... Registration plates beginning with letter 'T' were implemented in Scotland during 07 plates due to high car sales and lack of options with the standard 'S' for Scotland designator. Could always add that in brackets next to "reserved".

I downloaded this so that I could tell where in France cars I saw on the motorway came from. This worked ok however it did not tell you how to read a number plate. So when I tried to check a number plate from the Netherlands I did not know were to start. Thankfully the upgrade has fixed this and now gives examples. So works great.
One of the few free apps that I will keep.
