I signed up as I thought the app would be really useful but the more I use it the more disappointed I am. It favours big chains who don’t allow negotiation on rates and the rates are getting lower and lower with each passing week, which is surely counter productive for those running the app as I’m getting to the point where I’m thinking I’ll delete my account. Boots and Well are happy for you to book on their terms but will frequently cancel shifts with very little notice without being penalised, yet the app only allows you to cancel your own shifts due to emergencies a few times before reviewing your account. The phone app always has issues loading and crashes on me too, resulting in me needing to organise shifts through a laptop when I get home, which is far from ideal. Pros are the team are really easy to get hold of and always happy to help and offer support, but unfortunately the negatives are becoming more apparent. I wish my account would reflect the number of consultations and additional services I provide on shift, so I could negotiate rates based on my previous performance working for a company. The app doesn’t allow for hard work or going the extra mile to be recognised or appreciated.

This is more generally about the company than the app itself.The good side is, the app clearly shows the most important information that you need before deciding on the shift. The response is quick and success rate of securing a shift is good. If they have a build in call function, that would be betterThe down side is they should allow negotiation for rate and mileage which is available if you are booking direct with the company the agency covers so they are missing out on this. They should also provide a “ask a question “ or “nudge” button to get everyone a shift. They should also have an alert function that sends email when a certain shift has its rates changed. I know they design in a sway to avoid double booking, but they should let the detail down to the hour. For example, I can’t take another shift starting from 18:00 even if I got a shift only for 08:00-17:00, which means I and employer may miss out since I cannot apply after my shift ends, when most shift coordinators has ended their working day. This is a feature they should change asap , especially when there is “a national shortage of pharmacist “ as pharmacy owners says, they should make it easier for hard working pharmacists to do as many as they can and want.

I rarely use this company to secure shifts but I attempted to book a shift and I was unable to do so. Emailed them and days later they reply saying my insurance document is out of date. I mean what pharmacist works without insurance but ok I upload my new certificate which actually came into effect last September. A couple of weeks go by and I try another shift and again I cannot book so I email again to be told they are busy and it takes time to approve documents. She could have reviewed it in the time she wrote the email! So I ask what the time frame is and I get a reply saying they cannot say. In the meantime the app flips out of me saying my fingerprints don’t match and just generally malfunctions. Can’t wait to the next pharmacy show to tell these guys how useless their service is. One star is too good for them.

I actually prefer using this app to book work as I can’t get double booked and can see pop up notifications if successful- the diary with address and pay details are also very useful to have on hand. A big bonus would be if I could sync with other calendars. I really like the new negotiation button for shifts, however, does have its limits ( only allows hourly pay negotiation) I would have preferred it to allow for other things eg. comment section for full mileage/ lunch pay etc.Also would like it if the filter for shifts did not require to be applied every time I use the app. Overall, easy and simple app to use and prefer it to emails and phone calls.
