I updated to an iPad Pro for the USB-C support and because it can bus power certain audio interfaces by itself for work. It’s baffling that Apple of hard locked Logic Remote to only work with Logic Pro X v10.5 onwards. I’m on a Apple MacBook Pro mid 2014 model and it just flat out works, so obviously I don’t want to update for fear of other hardware and software becoming incompatible, we already saw Apple kill machines for those that did update by blindsiding companies like Ableton and Avid who were forced to issue statements of not to update.Hardware makes a lot of sense, but the beauty and the entire point of the iPad was that the screen becomes whatever controller you need at the time, why Logic Remote can’t detect which version of Logic the machines running and interface that way I’ll never know we all know it’s to force upgrades, sorry Apple! But I’m one of those professionals that doesn’t fix what isn’t broken, I upgraded my iPad because there was a genuine reason and I have benefited, it’s just a shame that they have arbitrarily locked out, I’m only interested in the key commands on display, just having my iPad as the mixer, cut, copy, paste, zoom, zoom out etc was extremely useful. The most valuable tech company on the planet yet for some reason hard lock software. Please release a Logic Remote basic which is just volume controls and key commands, win win, guess I’ll just have to make my own somehow.
