Great little game! But…
The game over all is really solid and well made. The art style and design is really nice. The mechanics are relatively simple and not too complex to learn. There are no annoying forced ads nor does the game bug you with micro transactions, there are only subtle hints towards their shop. I would recommend.
However, I feel like the progression and content in the game needs to be worked on. It’s slows down when you get deeper into the game. The wait times get longer (naturally) however, in the mean time there isn’t much to do. All you can do is send out your rovers to mine, but other than that, there is nothing. There is a build limit for each building locked behind the game’s progression system which ultimately for me just stagnates the game. You cannot do anything fancy to your colony nor expand it until you unlock another building. And to unlock another building, it takes longer longer as you progress deeper into the game. The only other thing you can do to your colony is upgrading the buildings. But this too just becomes tedious and boring
All in all, it is fun and well made as an idle game, but it just needs some more things to do later on in the game and possibly need more freedom for the player to tinker with their colony
Idea
This game is quite good I’m always going back on and doing things to make my”mars” better. But is the same way you can pop in a edit mode so I can put all the Walter/ electric wher I wish to move the too as at the moment feel like I searching for stuff. Or a zoom out so I can find what I’m looking for. Hopefully you read these and can sort thanks.
Good but really bad
I’ve spent a few weeks playing this game and love the fact that in half an hour you can have enough money to upgrade buildings or search for new materials. I love that it’s space sci-fi theme and that there was a finishing post. I managed to get to 60+ percent and still loved the game, sending 8 rovers every time I logged in to different locations then using my spare bucks to upgrade. All in all it was the perfect click grind game. Unfortunately I awoke to no saved game data! All my progress gone! I really enjoyed the game so I quickly ran through the tutorial and started again only to have the game reset the next time I loaded it.
I was a bit put off when the Dev team sold their soul and introduced advertising into the game but all in all it wasn’t too intrusive, but to have the game forget me every time I log is pathetic
