McGill’s new and improved m-ticket and real-time app allows you to buy your tickets within the app and use your mobile device as your ticket as well as view real-time information, meaning you can check exactly where your bus is, at any given time – all in the once place!
With other added features including- planning my journey, find my nearest stop, user friendly timetable information and saving your favourite services, this will make McGill’s bus travel even easier, with everything you need fitting into your pocket.
With M-Ticketing you can buy and load your tickets to your phone and use them whenever suits you; including saving your tickets for later! No more searching for change and for use on any McGill’s bus across our extensive network of services, with payment accepted via PayPal, credit or debit card.
There are over half a million journeys on a McGill’s bus every week. Our app makes it even easier to get on-board and track your bus right to your stop! McGill’s operates over 120 routes across Inverclyde, Renfrewshire, East Renfrewshire, North Lanarkshire and Glasgow city.

Number 38 service
The staff on this route are very good and try their best to accommodate getting the volume of passengers on their bus……given the bus shortages due to driver shortages.
I am currently on Jim Brown’s bus and I was met with professionalism, cheerfulness and helpfulness. Many other drivers including Amed, Gerad, many others but unfortunately you don’t know their names as have not had opportunity to ask (know one was on holiday in Turkey during July this year!).
Please reward these members of staff for the great job that they do please! 🥰. Thank you. Ally
Timetable? A rough idea, more like!
Despite continuing to advertise this as a live tracking service, McGills’ app offers only details of when your bus *should* arrive. It’s highly amusing to watch as your bus fails to arrive, despite the app alleging there’s one due. With the No. 7 service -Paisley / Linwood circle, it’s not uncommon to wait 20 - 40 minutes for an every 10 minutes service that the app still faithfully shows as being due, before disappearing without a trace from my screen. It’s like the Bermuda triangle, with less missing boats. If you phone customer services, you’re regularly told that the trackers aren’t working, there’s temporary traffic lights somewhere, or ‘it’s running 9 minutes slow’. (which particular one? There should have been 3 while I’ve been waiting and unless they’re wearing Harry Potter’s invisibility cloak, they ain’t been, hon!)
Please, McGills, make like Ronseal and do exactly what it says on the tin / App Store / on bus adverts!

I am using Mcgills app since day one! In the beginning had few miner issues here and there,however when those issues was appearing,the member of staff from customer service always resolved it,even better they walked a extra mile to insure me that I can keep my trust and be confident in the app! 5star for people who work hard enough to sort out issues! I won’t loose trust on them and the app! I am happy bunny
