Good but needs a bit of work
I have Bubbleupnp on my Pixel phone to compare this to which helps. Whereas Bubble always finds my renderer, with mconnect it is hit & miss. In particular, it finds it difficult with my Marantz but not with my Yamaha.
On the interface it could do with the option of the ing, perhaps following the system theme with a Dark/White option.
Also if I'm being picky I would say that the whole App could be closer aligned to Apple Design which Apple has a great site dedicated to.
On the plus side it works well streaming Qobuz & has no problem seeing all my favourites. It also identifies Hi Res tracks which is something Bubble doesn't.
I don't have any saved music files so can't comment about playing these from a NAS or similar.
Disappointed, promised much but not delivering.
I downloaded the lite version yesterday to enable me to play high res Qobuz from my iPhone to my Denon DRA800H stereo receiver. Worked beautifully, I was so happy as didn’t know such a solution existed. However when I went to play it a second time it didn’t list my Denon and took ages to find it? I thought this would be rectified by paying for the £5.99 version for my iPhone. Alas no! It defaults to my iPhone and AirPlay!?
The whole point is to quickly and easily find my Denon which at least HEOS does?
Pointless really if I can’t reliably get it to locate my receiver. £5.99 wasted! I’d happily pay more for something that worked!!!!!
Actually does what’s needed!
Yup, good and getting better. I can drive my main (Cyrus) UPnP streamer & HiFi with mconnect, or simply collect the music from the server to my phone to redirect via Bluetooth for a kitchen speaker. Now includes gapless. Wish list? Diminishing! Mconnect Has stayed on my iPhone’s first page for years now. And latest,.. signed up for Tidal HD, and upgraded Cyrus to latest SW. Now discover: - Cyrus handset does not work with latest SW! - Cyrus Cadence phone app doesn’t work with Tidal! - Tidal App sends HD music (compressed) over Bluetooth or Chromecast but not (intact) to UPnP Renderers! (ONLY) With MConnect I can fetch 24 bit 96kHz music from Tidal <AND> NAS to my HiFi system.
