Good startup needs tweaking
All great, just need to ensure consistency as some meals lack things that were listed.
Also would be great if it had labels for common allergens and/or vegan labels, I have been quite successful at working out which meals are vegan but would be great not to have to do that.
I'm happy to use it with 40% discount but more flexible and cheaper plans would be great, as it is not much cheaper than normal so probably not much point to keep using it for long.
It’s becoming a big scam now
I haven’t use mealpal for a while, when opened the app recently, I saw there are meal options that I can order at a discount without having a monthly subscription, then I tried to order one. Big mistake! Now it says I will be charged 4.99 per month since Dec. Why it didn’t tell me anything like this before I placed the order?!
Then I tried to cancel the subscription immediately, there’s no way I can cancel from the app. Then I logged into mealpal from the website, there’s still no way you can cancel! I tried to remove my credit card from mealpal, but again it’s not possible, I tried to email mealpal to cancel the subscription, now they didn’t respond to my email! I guess the last thing I can do is call my credit card company to block them.
It looks mealpal is getting more abd more desperate to take money from customers, spamming emails about offers that not applicable to existing customers, and meal providers are leaving this app one by one. This app is full of traps that I can’t manage to avoid all even if I knew I had to be extra cautious, won’t use anymore.
There’s been a glitch since April?!
This screams FRAUD to me. Just recieved an email, saying there had been a ‘glitch’ on the system and that I had not been charged a monthly membership fee of £4.99. The glitch is fixed now, I was reassured, and they won’t charge me historically, wow thank u, but my membership cycle will start on the 2nd of November, which is 2 DAYS from today. I have used Meal Pal ONCE months ago and then deleted the app, and obviously I don’t want to pay any fee. So I redownload it, to cancel my membership that I NEVER ASKED FOR to start with, and OH! apparently I can only cancel a membership on the DESKTOP on Meal Pal website?! Not even on the mobile version – although FAMOUSLY Meal Pal is a mobile app. Feeling gradually more frustrated, I go online on my DESKTOP and SURPRISE I can’t cancel the membership here EITHER, I need to send an email! AND I’m supposed to do this AT LEAST 2 BUSINESS DAYS BEFORE the new ‘membership cycle’ begins, meaning that even if I cancel NOW, I can still be charged?! Such a dark pattern and an absolute scam.
