Excellent content, good implementation

I had a lot of problems with the iOS app as originally released in January 2015, including lots of bugs, and its design that needed always-on Internet to download resources, restricting its use on WiFi only devices. But the new version solves almost all my concerns, including localising data on the device at installation meaning it can be used offline too, and I'm now very impressed and happy with it. I still have a few niggles with the implementation and user interface, but generally find it very usable. Best of all the content of the app is quite superb, giving information - including pictures, computer reconstructions, and audio and video - about 22 historic locations around the town. The information here varies, but is generally very detailed, and a good reflection of current knowledge, and the result of much historic research in the archives. And it's free! Basically if you have any interest in St Andrews or Scottish or medieval history this app is a must get. Highly recommended.

Great child's tour !

Just the right number of buildings to make you feel you have seen the town but not too much walking. Quiz questions give the children a focus and additional information of interest to mum and dad. Would be nice to see further tours added. Make sure you initialise the app before first use so that you can download all content.
