Great app
I originally downloaded this app thinking it would be a poor substitute to what I really wanted which was procreate (but I couldn’t afford it lol) but as I kept using it I found so many more features. For example when I draw a circle, I can’t hold down to make it perfect like in procreate, but I can go to the shape tool, make a perfect circle and then use the move tool to move it into place. Also something I really recommend is the transform tool it’s really useful. Overall this app is brilliant and does almost everything procreate does, but I have 1 problem. The text tool on this app is rubbish. So if you don’t mind not using text on your artwork this app is absolutely amazing but if you are planning on using text a lot then it isn’t very good. But overall I would definitely recommend :)
Brilliant
I’ve had this app for a few years now. It’s amazing! I can’t say I use it as much as I’d like but when I have a creative spike I pull it out and produce some really good digital art. I recommend using a pen for apps like this but it can be done with your fingers if you have the patience.
Although the app looks hectic when you first get it you soon learn all the buttons and get used to it really fast. I’m still discovering things about this app and I’ve recently been able to get custom brushes online to use (I usually search medibang brushes into google).
Great but too limited
I have been using this app for the last year and I have found it great, especially with the fact it’s free. However, I did find out soon that it is a lot more limited than MediBang Pro on a PC. It takes a very long time to set up the custom brushes and in the end you are limited to a pattern brush that always has gaps in it. I think a great idea would be to create a brush shop with free and (maybe) also charged brushes which cost a lot like Ibis Paint X.
Except for small problems like the ad banners at the top of the screen, I think that is the only big problem I have and other than that, I really like the other features like the in-app and website (although quite small) social media and all the tutorials for beginners. The app is great otherwise and will be a good starter drawing software for new artists.
