Awesome app

Happy to support this awesome developer. Application is clean and accurate. Built on a modular archtecture allowing you to upgrade the app or write your own extensions. Just a lovely balance of functionality and information about core metrics of your system. Highly reccommend. I have tried iStats which just seemed to have a lot of bloated info but that might be more important for some people.

Great, but with some minor issues

First of all this is a great tool. I recently used it to monitor the performance of my 2012 MacBook Air to see what was most important to me before upgrading to a 2016 Macbook Pro.

However, now that I’m on 15” 2016 MacBook Pro, I’ve noticed a few minor issues, and for that reason I’m only giving 4 stars.
1) Battery time remaining has disappeared - it became very useful after Apple removed this from the Battery icon in the menu bar. Some time around mid February it disappeared from MenuBarStats as well :-(
2) When I graph all 4 processors in my i7 MacBook Pro, all 4 graphs are exactly the same - which shouldn’t be the case. I appear to be seeing the same aggregate graph that is visible in activity monitor, 4 times.
3) In the CPU Module, I’ve switched on the “GPU card in use” checkbox. While this appears to be correct at boot, it doesn’t appear to change e.g. as you switch from mains to battery. This can be verified using Activity Monitor and/or gfxCardStatus.

Given the amount of customisablity of this app, and the number of different macs that have to be supported, I’m not surprised there are a few bugs from time to time. Overall I still recommend this highly useful tool, and I’m looking forward to seeing fixes for the issues reported above.

Does the job but lacks features and UX could be better

It does what it says, and even better it works on Apple Silicon equipped Macs, too, which is a bonus. However, there are several things that could be done better. For example, this app squeezes all information in a single window, a stepped window approach like iStat Menu would be better. There also doesn't seem to be an obvious way to see history data. Also, why do I have to clutter the Application folder with a management tool which provides nothing other than a driver so the app can read temperature data? This is just one of the many things that don't seem to be thought through very well. It's still a good app if all you want are some basic system specs, and the price is low. It's not however on par with other apps such as iStat Menu.
