Registration - Getting Started
Whether you’re an existing or new Metro Bank customer it’s simple to get started.
- If you’re registered for online and telephone banking, you’ll need your 12 digit customer number, 8 digit security number and your password
- If you’re not registered for either, you’ll need your 12 digit customer number and the details of the card you used most recently or your Magic Word.

Metro Bank’s mobile app is available for Personal customers and also Business customers if they’re using Business Internet Banking only.

The Best Bank for Today’s World

The 1st thing they do is, when You open Your account is to take a digital photo If You get robbed You normally lose everything all Your ID your driving licence etc you also have No cash, No problem they are open x7 days a week until 8:00 bar Sunday it’s earlier You tell them your name address etc say You need a new card they simply check your stored photo and say take a seat it will take x5 minutes, You have a coffee collect a few pens 😉 and Your new card is given to You With that as it’s an ID, You can go to Your Vodafone store get a new SIM card to put in another phone etc etc Try waiting x5 working days for one to arrive in the post, from the other medieval banks, who you can’t even phone as you don’t have one, if You can even get through to a real person The app is designed from the ground up to work as you would expect it to faultlessly It has been update and made even better during My few years with them I cannot fault them in anyway shape or form, more branches would be handy although saying that I have only ever been into a branch on x3 or x4 occasions to open the account and pay in a cheque once It’s So friendly and relaxed Coffee / Proper sized pens to write with a cash counting machine even a toilet ... Metro bank is awesome

So easy, so quick and so reliable.

I opened up a Metro account two years as a trial 2 years ago having been my previous bank since I was 12. So that was 36 years loyalty to the Bank of Ireland UK. Misplaced loyalty. Within 3 months I moved all my banking to Metro because I was so impressed with everything.
Bank of Ireland don’t allow you to transfer money from your account after 3pm and only in working days. If I wanted to transfer money on Friday if a bank holiday it wouldn’t be received by the payee until Tuesday morning. They claimed it was to ensure cleared funds were available but if you didn’t have cleared funds the transaction wouldn’t even start processing!!!!
My regret is not moving to Metro years ago. I tell everyone how brilliant, efficient and friendly they are. Very very happy customer here.

Metro bank is responsible for fraud on my account

Recently, I had a call from the fraud team telling me there had been some strange activity on my account and asking me to pass security so I could confirm it was me. I was suspicious so said no. Turned out it was them and they blocked my card. So when I got a call last night saying the same thing I thought it was Metrobank. I passed security (a few times as the call cut out once or twice) but then became suspicious and said I would call back. When I did I found that it had been a scam and someone else had been calling Metrobank and saying it was me. They had changed all my details so I could no longer get into the account. I told Metrobank to freeze everything but all they did was block the cards. They then allowed £5k of transactions to be made on the account!!! I will get the money back because I reported it but the fraudsters still got the money. Metrobank systems made us think this was real and allowed this to happen. Their failure to take the correct action allowed the money to be stolen. I am now having to drive 100 miles to my nearest Metrobank store so I can go with my passport to prove who I am and get at my own money.
