EXCEL DOES EVERYTHING

Since I started using EXCEL in the 1990s, I have done EVERYTHING on it - quotation spreadsheets, BoMs, sales forecasts (complete with graphs). I have also used it to create plan and elevation drawings of buildings, system schematics and product price lists (complete with photos of product). I've produced "Ready-Reckoners" for customers to cost their own sound systems, via drop-down menus. Visio has pretty-much replaced EXCEL for the drawings function in my world, but I'm still using it for all the other functions. If I want a table in WORD, I always generate the table in EXCEL, then either paste or hyperlink it into WORD - I never use WORD tables, as they're too clunky. I don't know of any other programme that's anywhere near as versatile as EXCEL - and I'm always learning new formulae to apply within cells and new functions overall. I run it on a MACBook - but never open Apple NUMBERS, because Excel is just too easy to use.

Stop giving me the new outlook!!!

I absolutely love Outlook, I always have and I have liked most updates, but this update is really not very good. I keep going back to the old version but every week or so, they just change it back to the new one! It's getting really annoying. The reason I like the old one is that it looks nice and clean, the text is clear and I can easily distinguise between the read emails and the new ones. Also, the old version remembers my previous contacts, so I only have to type in a few letters and I can choose out of a list of contacts I want to select. The new one is big and bold and not so easy tell your new emails from the read ones! It also doesn't remeber the contacts, so my job becaomes a lot harder as I send a lot of emails daily. You would get 5 stars from me if only you would just let me keep the old version or at least listen to the reasons why I don't want it and make those changes!

Sometimes the original is the only option

I've grown up with excel, tried and use Google Sheets for sharing a 22K line database because sharing with MS just isnt as good. But. when curating a new complex multifacited spreadsheet, there is nothing like excel. It just works. It's fast, intuitive, there's so much knowledge and how to's on the web, you can pretty much make toast with it. I just wish it could better handle dynamic live multi user support. Though I understand the complexities behind the reason it probably doesn't.
