Get closer than ever to your MINI with the all-new MINI Connected. Optimised for 2013 and newer vehicles, the app learns your preferences over time and lets you:
• STAY IN CONTROL: Lock or unlock your MINI and activate the climate control, anytime and anywhere (for owners of a MINI produced in March 2018 or later with a Connected Media, Connected Navigation, or Connected Navigation Plus option package)
• PLAN AHEAD: Find destinations and connect to your MINI for easy navigation
• FIND YOUR CAR: Never forget where you parked your MINI
• BE RELAXED & ON TIME: Schedule trips and get alerted when to leave based on traffic
• STAY ON TRACK: Get walking directions from your parking space to your final destination
• DO MORE: Locate your belongings with Find Mate and import destinations from your calendar or other apps
MINI Connected is optimised for 2013 and newer model year vehicles. While the app will function as expected on many older models, the availability of certain features may vary.
A mobile Internet connection is required. This can incur costs (e.g. roaming) in accordance with the contract concluded between the customer and the network operator.
Please observe national requirements and conditions specific to the country you are in. For the aforementioned reasons, BMW Group is unable to guarantee unrestricted compatibility and functionality of your mobile device in combination with the vehicle interface. The application is displayed in the car in the language configured for the vehicle.
Continued use of the GPS service running in the background can decrease battery life. If you experience significant battery drain while using MINI Connected, select the lower battery usage option in the Settings menu.
This version includes minor bug fixes.
Ratings and Reviews
For new models only
I’ve got a 2018 Cooper S - having read the previous reviews I thought I’d give this a go thinking since my car was relatively new the app would do more. I was mistaken - all it does is show me how many miles are on the clock and how much petrol I have in the tank. Also there appears to be no ability to connect via Bluetooth meaning to use the app I need to connect my phone manually to the car with an Apple lightning cable each time which is frankly absurd in 2019.
I think this app is only really useful for anyone with a brand new model which has the SIM card option allowing the car and app to be in sync via mobile networks hence enabling the ability to lock/unlock remotely etc. I’m certainly not going to be getting into the car, plugging in a lightning cable and driving around with my phone hardwired just so the app can tell me the range left on the current tank of fuel... wish mini would be more upfront about the extremely limited features for non latest model vehicles. Utterly pointless unless you have a SIM card module in your mini.
Don’t bother with it.
Utter rubbish. What’s the point of it? No option to remote lock/unlock as there should be. Mini “find mate” works for one day and then says “you’ve not paired any tags” all it does is show me my last vehicle location which is inaccurate and the amount of fuel in the tank (but even for this you have to actually run the app and connect to the car). Deleting the App, I’ve tried for over a year to get to grips with it and it serves no purpose. Your response Mini??
Awkward setup but working fine
So after reading negative reviews i was unsure whether it was worth downloading and trying this app with my mini cooper (2016). Well I’m glad i did because after a little perseverance it seems to be working well. The app allows me to pre-plan journeys on the maps on iphone and also stream Spotify/Amazon music (plus others available) via my iphone through the mini.
Here’s what i did. I downloaded the mini drivers guide App first and created an account - linking my car to it.
Then downloaded this connected app and logged in. It crashed or hung a few times but it let me login after a few attempts. But still was not going anywhere. However after plugging iphone into usb in the mini and logging in to app on iphone (and being in the mini connected screen in the car) it worked and allowed me to also sync calendar and contacts. It now seems to be fine.
So YES it does work but you will have to persevere a little. Hope this helps.
