Gorgeous detective story

A beautiful interactive graphic novel for fans of 1920s detective shows. Centred on a mystery involving a murder at the opera, you guide (and do a little of the detective work) Miss Fisher through the various locations tracking down the suspects.

It looks gorgeous and the music is fantastic, while the story is fun, albeit quite short. However, this is episode 1 of what will hopefully be a multi-part series, so eventually there should be a lot to play through, and as it ends on a cliffhanger I hope Tin Man games are able to turn around episode 2 fairly quickly.

This is quite different to most of Tin Man's other releases but they have different apps for other audiences (I still enjoy their more traditional book adventure games) and it is great to see them trying new formats in interactive fiction.

Disappointed

Had hoped this would be a fun and interesting game to play, but I managed all of 10mins before I deleted it.

This is very childish, and increasingly tedious. The pace is amazingly slow, with dialogue and action happening at a snails pace. The music quickly becomes an annoyance as well. There is also an unnecessary white flash that happens at ‘supposedly shocking’ points in the story but again is so forced and over the top it very quickly becomes distracting and annoying.

If you want a slow child-like game this is for you, if not avoid at all cost!

Shouldn’t need to pay for the next episode

I really don’t think that you should need to pay £2.99 for an episode. I think that the games good but real money being used is just....
