Needs significant improvement in speed
Overall good; but it takes minutes to load, plus there’s no way to ‘like’ content instantly. Adding to collections just gives a spinner graphic and errors.
I got bored waiting and gave up and went back to stumble upon which is still super quick...
If the services initial speed teething problems can be resolved I may take another look.
Very good but...
I have used it to collect articles on a particular subject. The app is able to nicely resolve the links that you save. And the presentation is excellent. My only concern is that it isn’t widely used.
Hit and miss
I tried Mix a fair while back when it first replaced StumbleUpon and really didn’t get on with it.
I’ve redownloaded it to give it another go with a fresh perspective and actually, it has improved.
Is it better? Yes.
Is it great in its own right? Not really.
My main issue is that I’m not really sure what to do with it.
What was appealing about SU was that it was brilliant at throwing up underrated gems. Articles and art work and really unusual stuff that you didn’t come across elsewhere. Mix is a bit too saturated with content that I can already find on other platforms: memes, Twitter screenshots and Reddit-style fluff. Although there are some interesting articles floating about, to be fair.
It’s just lost its main attraction for me, which was its niche content.
