Excellent deck builder

I got Monster Train for sale on Steam, and liked it so much that I bought it again for my tablet. Very glad the DLC was available for this version and I bought that too. And HOORAY for being a game you can just buy outright rather than being harassed with offers to buy powerups and addons and whatever.

As is typical though, a few tablet quibbles. Too often I accidentally take a card when I was only trying to view its details (separate “select” button maybe?), and having eight or more cards in hand gets difficult (could use a quick toggle to tile the cards to view/play).

The game itself though, excellent. I played Slay the Spire into the ground and found this after, anyone who enjoyed StS should definitely get this.

Deck Building Perfection

I swear all I need for the rest of my life is a copy of Monster Train and Slay the Spire on my iPhone and I will always be a happy man. Monster Train was a firm favourite of mine on the Xbox and I’ve always wanted a more portable version, so this is a very welcome port. It works very well although I find myself playing a bit slower than I would on the Xbox due to tap and hold tooltips taking a little longer to bring up. It’d be good to customise that tap-hold duration, but other than that I have no constructive feedback. The game design is godly and every run is as exciting as ever.

Best card battler by a mile

I've been playing Monster Train for literal years now and I'm still finding new strategies to try. It's surprisingly big and deep, runs are shorter than Slay the Spire, and it's got a much more approachable sense of humour.

STS may be the original, but Monster Train is the best
